What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Finally got my father in laws car road ready. A long two months working on and off. Started out with only needing a right front brake line. Ended up doing that brake line 3 different times with a few unions, inverted with standard bubble flares, and unfortunately, a new abs pump. Father in law purchased a fitting with the wrong threads to go in that brake line spot on the abs pump, so the threads stripped out. Luckily, got a used abs pump from a local you pull it for $50. Tried bleeding it with a snap on solus ultra. Guessing the car doesn't support a manual bleed. So bleeding the pump and all 4 corners was time consuming. Now it just needs a pass. side tie rod, and carpet. But at least the mechanical side of things is complete.

Still scrapin' snow.

I havent seen snow in 6 weeks, 60 out today, FCK SNOW!

Scraped more snow this morning. We've had some crazy weather the past week or so; small storm cells that are packed with rain and snow. Sunday it snowed in the morning, warmed up and the snow went away during the day, then snowed in the evening. Last week I was driving across town and drove through three different storm cells, dropping snow, but only for about 10 minutes. Must be global warming. LOL

Only thing missing is the airbag light.

I can touch my passenger seat and make the air bag light turn on and off. Give that a try for more lights.

Finally got of my butt and ordered some HP3 LED's, under warranty, from Diode Dynamics. The two signal indicators are pulsating, and one of the cluster lights is flickering (if I turn the dimmer to half way it is fine). Should see them in a week or so.

Hats of to Diode Dynamics. This is the second warranty I've done with them over the years, and they don't question you, they just send you new product. No wonder I keep going back to them. :th_thumb-up:

had to go out and get some new work cloths to trash, on my way there im like damn cars pulling to right hard today. get to the gas station to gas up take a walk around and right front tire had maybe 12 psi in it. air it up and find a nail in the tire. went and plugged it up.

i swear for the low miles i drive i sure do pick up a lot of crap in my tires.

Wifey's car got towed to the dealership last night, apparently when the battery dies in her car it freaks out and safety interlocks everything... E-brake, parking brake, the throttle and gear selector is disabled, and it needs more than just a Torque app to clear the codes and reset it.

On another note, my heater started squeaking when I turn the blower on. Pretty sure it's because of the still-missing cowl that I have yet to install. :p still works, just annoying.

^^^^ The axle of the blower fan is exposed in passenger footwell, I've lubed a squeaky one of mine before with WD-40 using that red straw...

I just need to find that little straw... Lol

They now have new type cans with a straw that flips up and down, not just WD....

Been tracking my fuel mileage the past two months...averaging 25-26 MPG with the "winter blend". Can't wait to get back up to 30 or so in the summer.

Do you let it "warm up" before driving? 5-10 minutes a day will have an impact on mileage..

I usually let it run for about a minute. Let oil get all in the engine, lifter noise settles. but I don't let it warm up.

OK. I didn't know mileage was poorer strictly on winter blend. I have remote start, so I notice mileage drop with warming or A/C-ing. Car cools down WAY faster than it warms up...lol. I HATE SCRAPING ICE, that's why it runs longer in winter.

^^^ same here. Mine drops to 23-24 mph in winter. Usually 25-27 in summer. All hand calculated. I have never seen 30 mpg. I do mostly highway driving 800 miles a week. Maybe if I set the cruise at 60 on the freeway I might (dangerous though) speed limit is 70 usually run 71-72.

Sh!t, I wish I got 24 mpg in the winter. I didn't even get that in summer in my daily driving duties. I was lucky to get 19 mpg and 17 mpg in winter. A lot of that had to do with all the mountain climbs on my way to work, but whatevs. I've been getting 23.5-26.5 mpg out of my Lancer on the same trip this winter though. That's varied due to temperature and such. I can't wait until spring breaks and I start seeing that higher number all the time.
