Yep they were like autozone ones. I've noticed that too.

The K&N ferry dropped of the missing parts I need to make the first CAI complete; ordered on Friday, landed here in my office this morning. Nice job K&N!
did a water pump on a 6.0. pretty easy job. hardest thing to remove was the push pin clips that hold the two halves of the fan shroud together.
changed that ac belt too. cause lord knows its much easier with the fan off still.
What did I do? O.K. smallest on up
1.) Finally got a leaf out of my heat/ac fan that must have fallen in when I put a new cabin a/f in 6 mos. ago. What a noisy irritating MOFO that oak leaf was!
2.) Drained some too weak coolant mix out of my new HELP drain plug to bring concentration up. (after a flush & stripped plug and wasted coolant) FML!
3.) Tore into the snorkel & cleaned my MAF
4.) While there, Remove/replace TB & clean it.(inside UIM too) MAN the goo inside looked like burnt maple syrup, 20 mins., rags, an old toothbrush & 1/2 can of CRC TB cleaner & I call it good. Is it my imagination that its got a little more giddyup now? I reused old TB gasket, is that ok? no leaks after & old gasket felt nice & pliable??
Then I found out I have rusted thru resonators on 2 vehicles(05 monte,06 gp). Should I go with CAT backs, or is it worth it to cut & replace just res???? Please L/M/K what u guyz think.
Just toss some cheap glasspacks in their place... 25 bucks on Amazon gets you a 26" thrush glasspack. Lol
And yes, cleaning the TB on an 04+ does give a little bit better throttle response, I don't know how that works. Lol

OK, so i'm thinking the flange is probably gonna crumble, so i'll get the split cuff repair kit, and when I cut behind the resonator, I should work in an additional hanger at/near that new joint before it makes the turn towards the pass. side. Sound right? I still have to measure to see what length in need, 26 sounds short. Exhaust parts used to be sooo much cheaper, in the 90s I could even get a cat back installed cheaper than I could get the parts myself. One example of todays prices: 819$ for a cat back from ADV auto, OUCH
ebay catbacks are like $200
Loaned the GT to my mom and took a shop S-10 home. It has the loudest squealing brakes I think I've ever heard.
Replaced the front brake pads and rotors, what a difference! Last time I just replaced worn pads and they never bedded in correctly. Doing the job right is so much more rewarding !
Donated $20, everyone should donate $5, you waste that much on junk and chasing A$$. Keep this forum going you have no idea the value it serves.
How about eat a cock? The forum has no owner, it will go down when time comes there is no saving unless someone buys it.
Can we get someone to buy it? When is it going down btw lol. We have too much valuable stuff on here man

Thanks, War, I took your advice. I cut bad res off right in front of it (and behind), leaving me about 2" behind the flange, slid a Thrush glasspack on it with a "tailpipe extension", 3 clamps & an extra hanger behind the flange just in case. $32 & change w/ tax out the door from Advance. So 06GP is good, 05Monte same situation/solution next weekend. They wanted $92 just for a res, and I know my flange was probably gonna crumble, so NICE shortcut man! Thanks again, E.....
Awesome! I got the idea from one of my dad's co-workers, it worked great for my dad's two vehicles.
Then I saw it multiple times on here, filed it away in the back of my head for when I hit that point... Glad to be of help.
