Dropped the pan and Installed a transgo shift kit along with new filter and 7 quarts of dex 6.
Also installed 60# injectors and my 3.0...
Wash job with all jambs, engine bay, wheelwells, etc included (mega-muddy). Fixed a couple rattles under the hood (stamped nuts are bunk), cleaned battery terminals (was in a hurry when replaced), and finally got the headlights going the right direction (one is glued). Like a new car! lol Neigh dog kennel was so loud I had to bust out old school headphones and mp3 player just so I could tolerate being in my own yard. Once the Sorrys got home and shut their dogs up across the street, both side neighbors had to mow right then as well. Meanwhile there was a children's backyard screaming contest at the behind neigh's and not sure which one fired up the chainsaw. Lived on this spot since 1998 and not until this last renter came across the street have I seen such irresponsible dog ownership. Cops done been there, don't help. I used to love washing the car in peace. Still do but theres theres half a dozen dogs going ape chit 24/7. Send the Wah-mbulance!
So 2 accelerations, same place, same conditions, same attempting to get up and go as fast as possible. Second time much worse than the first lol. I guess I gave it wot just a bit too soon the second time, or maybe traction control didn't do much. First one traction control was non stop working, I never turned it off in either. Just a lightly wet road, pretty decent out. I think for some odd reason, traction control just didnt do anything the second time. It's really weird how it works, sometimes is super corrective, others like I don't even have it. This is a perfect example since this is the exact same scenario.

Another day, another light on the RX. This time a high beam light. This time my bin of spare parts didn't save the day.... in the past, the miniature lights are universal... thus salvaging all those GP tail lights saved me a couple bucks last time. Not this time though.
Also I looked at my GP today a couple times. That's about it...
Changed the rack. Other than having to grind a little off my new line wrench, because it wouldn't clear the downpipe, everything came out pretty easy. While I had the subframe dropped I went ahead and pulled out the sway bar to give a little more clearance. I was changing the sway bar bushings anyway, so it just worked out. After seeing the way the front sway bar bushings looked I think I might go ahead and change the rear ones too, just for peace of mind. I need to adjust the passenger tie rod a turn or two as it is slightly off. Will do that tomorrow, then will call on Monday to see when I can get it aligned.
One thing I can say is, I don't think my car has ever steered this nice. My rack must have been "bad" the entire time I have owned the car. The steering is so light now. Before it always seemed to take more "effort."
So in the last few weeks my car has gotten
- steering intermediate shaft
- brand new quick struts all around
- rack
- outer tie rods
- lower control arms
- front sway bar bushings
- front and rear sway bar links
Next projects are going to be replacing the left rear caliper, and putting new pads and rotors on the back as well. After that the only thing left that needs replaced is the resonator.
Drove up to Michigan today to pick up the new wheels and I must say.... I absolutely LOVE them. This car looks amazing now. Then I stopped by Dans on the way home and pulled a couple cars on his Lincoln![]()
It'll get lowered here in the near future. Trying to decide what springs to go with.
Wheels look so much better then the torque stars

Yes they do. I'm so glad to be rid of those torque stars. I love these wheels.
Wheels look much better.
I detailed the interior today.
Put the battery back in the Trans Am today and it fired right up. So it looks like it will last as long as it stays warm I hope. I always hated how this car if the battery was unhooked for a while it didn't want to idle right until you drive it around a bit. It would idle and if you touched the gas and let off it would almost stall then the RPMs would slowly rise back to normal. The gas in it is also pretty old now. Soon it will be out of storage and I have to try to fix the BCM and wash a detail it to get ready to try to sell it again
got pissed off shoving engine back in with rear togs bolted on was forced to unbolt the headers then put engine back in. oh well now maybe i can fix the exhaust leak.
The car got a little more love today. I changed the cabin filter. No idea how old it was, but I know I had never changed it in my 53k miles of ownership. LOL
I also cleaned up the plastic cowling and sprayed it a flat black to clean it up. With the wipers off I sanded and resprayed the area with the "coating" that likes to chip and peel.
I also adjusted the tie rod a little to get the car into better alignment until I can get it aligned at a shop. It's close enough for now.
Replaced the CV boot and LF wheel bearing on the impala.
Replaced the cam sensor on the neighbors neon. Was misfiring and threw a cam sensor code.
Gonna wash the gp tonight.
Installed PLOG 180 Therm and replaced SC Coupler, All great until......got the wrong Torque Specs on the S/C Nose (it is NOT 15 FT LBS), Leaked the oil. Glad I had spare and Re-torqued and then Found a Leak in the rear coolant elbow. I will be letting it sit until next weekend and will be pulling part all again (same area).
Looks alright....for the third time.
If I have to do again(when I do it again) I will get the SEM
Clear was still milky in spots when I snapped it.
Hopefully Matt somewhat approves.....
