so today i went to my local muffler shop and had them give me a price on a resonator delete.
he would chop it out and on one side bolt in straight piping and the other weld it. he told me it would cost $85
i was wondering if any one has a resonator delete and how much it costed them. it seemed high to me

    Does seem to be high.
Your exhaust is going to crackle and pop like a ricer on the higher rpms if you delete it.

Why oh why would you do this? It's the single worst thing you can do to the exhaust. That does seem high for a couple of feet of pipe.

buy a glass pack, have them weld that in place of the shot res.

if its not shot, leave it in there. your car will sound like crap, your ears may even bleed.

your stock cat back is good for over 300 hp, so dont think you need to worry to much about flow.

get headers if you want flow.

    This this this

    Or downpipe

You'll gain very little if anything from deleting it and it'll just sound like crap

just trying to save you 85 bucks, and your sanity/hearing, cause a week or two of no res and your back at the shop begging him to install a new res.

Have you ever looked at the inside of a resonator?

Don't do it! Like the other posters have said, GM V6s sound like ass without the resonator. It is there to give these engines the sound that they are "famous" for.

Even my 3 year old hated that. He said "Eww daddy, stinky poop! The Purple car has a stinky diaper!"
