I have a 1998 Grand Prix gtp and was wondering if I need to run a tuned PCM right away. I no it will help the mods but can I get by without it right now. Here is my list
3 inch cat less down pipe
    ZZperformance power log
    160 thermostat
    104 plugs
    3.4 pulley
    Areo force interceptor scan guage

None of it is installed yet........ Making sure my ducks are in a row

It would help. Shoot, you can't go wrong with a tune. It's usually for the better anyway.

im on similar mods, but headers and rockers. my 98 regal had KR up the ass. i put 05 timing and knock sensor files in my tune and no more KR. have to see how it does in warm air next.

best you can do is put your mods on, see if you get KR, some cars take those mods and have very little kr or none on a stock tune. if your getting more then 2* of kr get a tune.

    overkill ftw. Great base tune.....

I've also heard good things about reptile. Either would be an upgrade over stock by far.
