Greetings all,
Couple of weeks ago, went to get in the car (02 GTP 205K) and when I opened the door, got a real fast dinging alarm -no key in ignition - and the daytime headlights and dash lights would not come on after starting. Got the headlights on by turning the main switch on. No dash lights though. After a few minutes, all came back on as normal. It did not happen again.
I've had this issue before and solved it by changing the main ignition switch harness which I did. (the car is on its 5th one.)
After about a week, it happened again - once - and not since.
I've gotten bad replacement harnesses in the past that haven't lasted a week but before I change it again, are there any other possibilities worth checking? Not sure of the proper terminology but is there anything in the actual key tumbler that could cause this?
