Yeah once I get the tune dialed in I don't scan much, as long as I hear my IC pump running when I start the car, that's good enough for me.
Glad I got the 3.6, I'm not sure why but I have 4* of knock. My LTFTs are negative, and I've tried different injectors, and I have the fuel pump rewired with 10 AWG wire. WTF. Pulls harder, but damn this knock. Should I drop to the next heat range colder plug? I have stock iridiums in there now. Just so you don't have to look back I have SSAC headers, ER rockers, FWI, and a Reptile tune.
try some 104's. it may help. or not.
I'm gonna try 104s and a 180 tstat. When I left to work I stopped by the parts store to pick up some 104s and it was ~170-190 and I had no KR that I saw. Once I got up over 200, I started getting a few degrees.
Were your ltft's negative while you were wot? If so, that's why you have kr, pcm is pulling fuel and you're running lean. How did your 02's look compared to before? Have your fan points been set up for 180 tstat? If not, probably not gonna do much for you.
Yes they have. I had asked Reptile about it earlier and he said that I could wait til Spring to change it since I'm in a colder climate, but I'm gonna go ahead and do it tomorrow, it's only $8 lol. I didn't see the LTFTs at WOT, but at idle is when they are so negative. At some point in the near future I'll be pulling the rear header to fix the kitchen sink, and I'm going to move the 02 to a better location then. For now I'm going to try the plugs and thermostat, to see what it does, since it's basically needed anyways. After that I'm going to check fuel pressure and see what's going on there. Might as well seafoam it and check for exhaust leaks too.
You want the trims locked in at 0 when you go into PE (should be around 35% throttle), if they lock in negative the pcm will be pulling fuel the whole time making you run lean. Cruising, +/- 3-5% is fine. Did you reset the trims and drive for a while to let them settle in before getting that 4* kr? I believe you need at least 2 key starts during that time as well (turning the car off and restarting).
If thats the case, nope, lol. I started it and let it idle while I put everything away, which was about 20 minutes, then went for a cruise for a few miles before I did a WOT run. I installed the 104s today, the 180 Tstat will be in tomorrow.
104s are in as well as 180 T stat, and no good news. I took it down a curvy road to test out the Vogtlands and Addco rear sway (AWESOME btw), and in one straight away I got up to 6.7* The most since I've had the car, lol. My LTFTs are negative for sure, always below -10%. I'm gonna seafoam it...mainly because it makes exhaust leaks very easy to see. I checked fuel pressure and Key on engine off, it'll pop up to 50 PSI then drop to 46 after about 5 seconds. Running is a solid 42 PSI. Afgter I turn it off it held pressure until I took the gauge off about 5 minutes later.
And you had 0 KR before the pulley drop?
whats the gap on the plugs? i re gaped em 3 times, 60, 55, 52, then 0.50 felt the best.
Iridium plugs here gapped to .54
Just got done, I forgot that i don't have a band clamp on the rear crossover connection of my headers, so that is changing next week. I was expecting more of a leak, but it wasn't that bad. We'll see if that fixes it. I wonder if it's time I step up to a 4 inch FWI? I dunno.
4 inch intake tube wont help. its getting all it can take as is.
my down pipe blew off 3 times then a band clamp went on. talk about a leak, open headers are loud when un expected at wot lol
Haha. That hasn't happened but I was able to tighten the U bolt that's there now. LTFTs are still negative (-18%) at 2500RPM though.
somethings not right, and its not a exhaust leak. you got a leak somewhere if its that high in the gas.
at 5% throttle im at -2.0 or lower. at idle its like -7.0
wot im at -0.8 and my trims are still learning since my last pcm flash this morning. where i leaned the A/F out a bit.
While you were wot, your ltft was -10? Or can you only watch one parameter at a time with your scanner? How about your 02's, and timing? Granted a 3.6 from stock isn't a huge drop, but when your timing and fueling stay the same as what you had before, and you add a lot more air via the pulley, you're bound to get KR.
When I drop pullies I usually go back to stock timing, get fueling dialed in, then slowly start adding timing. I know that's not an option for you, but if you're running 20* timing at least you know why you're getting KR with the new pulley (aside from the trims making you go lean in pe).
