Well the first question is are you going to do this by hand or by dual action polisher? A dual action polisher will give you better results as your arms can only do so much. Your arms will thank you by using a DA.

It is always recommended to do a test spot with the least aggressive product to have the paint tell you what it likes. Locally you can pick up Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, Meguiar's M205 Finishing Polish. Pick up Meguiar's Ultimate Polish if you can't find M205. These can be used by hand and DA. Then pick up the wax of your choice. If you want longer lasting protection go with a synthetic wax. Don't forget to clay prior to using any product.

Now you don't always need to compound. This is where the test spot comes into play with the least aggressive product. If you are compounding all the time then you have to reevaluate your washing technique to start. If you keep compounding you will eventually remove all the clear. Polishes are less aggressive than a compound.
