Decided to strap a gopro to my air intake and see how hot the speed daddy's were getting. Awesome things resulted.

Also my favorite frame of the video

Never would have guessed that was happening under my hood... At least not cherry red like that... Header wrap sounds nice right about now

Take into account that SD's are super thin metal, I'm sure WBS or ZZP/TOGs are a little thicker and would take longer to glow red.

Either way, it's not any harm can be done. You'd have to be the throttle so long to make them like a cherry and stay there, and being thin they cool quicker.

Nice, I'm glad I wrapped every inch of my SD headers with the DEI titanium stuff. Your pic still makes me want to change VC gaskets every time I do an oil change now.

From my understanding putting header wrap on stainless headers is not a good idea, especially with the cheep Chinese stainless as it's more prone to cracking, at least that is what I have been told anyway.

Not sure why wrapping would cause cracks, cracks usually happen from rapid change in temp. I would think the wrap would help keep that from happening by not allowing them to cool off to fast. I've been beating on my gtp for the last 5k miles with the wrapped SD and no cracks (fingers crossed).

Maybe cause it allows them to over-heat / prevents it from quickly dissipating the heat
