Anybody know who sells a bracket for a 38mm swaybar?
Front sway bar? Shouldnt need a new bracket.
Mines snapped in half
Is the bar 38mm or are you talking inside of bracket without the bushing in it? You could buy a stock replacement by moob that's poly at autozone which comes with bushings and brackets that fit the stock bolts.
i got him all straightened out in his other thread. the cap is the same, the diameter of the hole in the bushing is what changes. seems his cap just rusted out and broke.
lol no rust in San diego California, only been In philly for a month so that snapped bc of my hard driving and these damn pot holes in philly. But heres some pics off the broken bracket and the stock bracket I went and bought to replace it which leaves a gap in between the bushing and bracket itself. my sway bar came with bushings and the brakets/hardware so my brackets had fitted perfectly with my bushings which are a hardened material not that soft stock rubber.
remember I only used the OEM bracket around the bushing that came with my swaybar, I didn't use the stock bushing that came with the bracket but as you can see it leaves a gap

passenger side still has the original bracket that came with this swaybar which bolts tightly down on the bushing
see how the cap is lifted up a bit to the left of the bolt? id take it back off, bend the ends so they are more squared up. maybe add a large washer under the bolt. then re clamp it down. that may help take up that extra slack you got going on.
Well we see that the bracket clearly is to high but adding washers would just take away the length of the bolt while the bracket height will remain the same, leaving me in the same situation. Or am I looking at this the wrong way?
see the gap @ the bottom to the left of the bolt between the frame and cap? if you have that on both sides it will give you that gap around the bushing.
so take it off, bend the cap bolt hole ends so they are square to the frame, then re install.
Bending it may help a bit, but do you think this gap would affect me in any way if i was to drive it this way?
Yes bending it flat should help, just gotta find the time to do it....that's y I wanna know if leaving it this way for a while with that gap if it would affect me or cause any knocking sounds
you may hear it knocking, or the bushing may even walk out.
adding a washer will make the bolt head wider, adding more contact area to hold that cap down. and the washer will be closer to the bend in the cap, where it can help hold it square.
Got chu.....
Never seen a gap like that, nor a broken bracket, lol... Broken sway bars, yes! Hahaha... And can't see a pot hole doing it, must be user error (driving aggressively)
energy suspension bushings come with their own brackets... With a zerk grease fitting too... Worth the $ IMO : )
My brackets also have the gap like that. I have the GMPP sway bars and they have been on the car for years.
