sup guys. Looking at buying a 98 GTP for a daily driver. car has 190,000 Miles. car is in decent shape. supposedly had the engine rebuilt. driver side rocker is gone. needs rear struts bad. what all kind of issues should I be looking for. seemed to drive ok (minus strut clank) I did not open her up. acceleration seemed smooth. Price is $800 Had a check engine soon light on but couldent check it at the time. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the rear strut tower support for rust. Check for coolant leaks around the intake manifold/coolant elbows, and oil leaks around the valve covers. Check the CV axles to see if a boot has leaked its grease, also check for any play in the axle by grabbing it and giving it a good wiggle. Even though you said it accelerated smooth an axle could still be bad. My car has bad boots (which i haven't gotten around to fixing yet, lol) and sometimes it vibrates and sometimes doesn't on good accelerations.

Those are the main things I can think of right now. I'm still new to the grand prix.
40th Anniversary GTP. No name brand HAI. Partially clogged cat.

Thanks.... I did notice some play in the rear axle by shaking the wheel but I figured it was a wheel bearing or something to do with the broken strut
