Has anyone ever noticed that one roof rail in a set always looks like the corner on the underside where it glues to the car looks like it has been cut or hacked off.

Posted a pic for an example

Bottom rail is normal and square. The the top rail the bottom edge looks cut

Is this normal or have both sets of rails I have had been hacked up ones?

I wonder if it's from people taking the rails off with piano wire. The last pair I had sat right. Hopefully these still do too.

Get some 3M windshield urethane and glue them on. They'll NEVER come off again!

    Not a bad Idea. Thanks!

Whats the best way to put them on so they'll stay but can be taken off without ruinning them? Incase the expiration date on my tranny is closer than anticipated. Haha

They're junk. I'll send you my address for proper disposal.

2002 Trans Am- 6 speed, bolt ons or something, it's slow.
2006 Silverado- forged ls2, 4l80e, plate kit, also slow...

Is there a possiblity they're some sort of aftermarket rails?

They fit on the car with no issues. Just still odd that part is missing

AFAIK, there was never any aftermarket rail ever made.

Since GM cut producing them quite some time ago.
