Hello everyone. I am considering removing my cat and going with a straight pipe instead of buying a new one. But I have heard from a few people that the 08 models must have a cat or it will burn gas like crazy. Does anyone know for sure if this is true for that particular year??

Nothing good comes with removing the cat. Car is going to fail emissions, it will set codes on the dash, probably will affect mileage and it's going to smell like ass when it's idling with your windows open.

I wouldn't bother.... Put a high-flow cat on if anything instead of going without. Those can be had for <$100 instead of $300+ for an OEM comparable at a muffler shop.

I am sure someone will come in say "but you'll have more POWAAAAA". Unless your car is insanely balls-to-the-wall modified, I see it being very negligible.

It will likely use more gas if it keeps running a cat test because it's no longer there. And the check engine light will always be one and being a 2008 is got a year only computer with can bus.

I would find an aftermarket cat and weld it in place. I would not get a high flow unit as it does what it says, flows too well for what the car wants to see.

Go cat-less and get a tune that way the codes won't show up and you won't burn thru gas

Please forgive my ignorance, but can you explain what "year only computer with can bus" mean?
