Need to replace rack in my 2006. So I order the correct rack, could somebody please tell me what Magnasteer is and does anybody know if a 2006 base sedan has Magnasteer or not? Many thanks in advance.

Magnasteer is something you can google, it's a power steering assist really.

You have to figure out if you have it or not. Be it a vehicle RPO code to see if came that way from a dealership or get under the car and look for a electrical plug in on the steering rack. If one is there, you have magnasteer.

Id go with the look for the plug option. RPO code isn't reliable at least from what I've seen when we needed a rack for a friend's car. I believe the RPO code is NV7, his car didn't have the code but had magnasteer.

best to look for the wire leading from the rack column boot area up to the back of the trans. you see that wire its got magnasteer.
