So I am looking at getting a 2002 Grand Prix GT today.. 2 door.. Has 84,xxx miles on it and the seller wants $3500. The underbody looks amazingly clean for being a midwest car and the strut towers and rocker panels have no damage. It had a fuel line break and caused an engine fire, but it was put out fast enough that the hood liner didn't even burn. It was put out with a fire extinguisher, so I was told to be aware of rust issues in the engine bay. The original owner gave up with it and it sat for two years. He sold it to the shop I go to and the guy did a full valve job on it and fixed the running issue. It runs now.

Really the part that gets me is the frame. The factory mount points are still almost perfect. So would you bite? I can't talk him down cause someone else wants it for the same price.

Pass because for that price it should be running and driving and supercharged. That's a 2k car maybe

I'd say no. I got my GTP with 90,000 Miles and minor cosmetic issues for $3000 easy. I couldn't have asked for a cleaner car internally

What year? Did you just go to nearby auto dealers or did you buy it from the forums? Also, how did the frame and rockers look?

ide jump on it for about 2600-2800, barring any other mechanical issues.

I got my 01 gt with 49K for 4500 two years ago, rockers have surface rust, and strut towers are A-Okay. Did have to do gaskets but it runs like a top

    When I got it tinted
