just had this issue Speedgrid but didn't have to replace cat, sensors or anything..... Just remove the heat shield from the resonator. Mine was loose and I ripped it off. Get under the car and grab the resonator heat shield cause I bet it's loose.
my first guess is there is a hanger lose on the car. the reason i say this speed is i has a 91 sunbird and the guys who redid my exhaust wields on rusty metal and it broke off and rattled.
Where's Scotty at? Lol
Does it sound like someone is throwing a wrench in a drawer full of wrenches?
I drive a 99, but... had a rattle that fits the description. It was the downpipe/flex joint. I replaced the downpipe / converter assembly. The original was double walled up top. Believe me I tried tack welding it with no luck at stopping the rattle. Rap on the pipe with a soft hammer or wood block to see if thats where the noise is. My converter had become plugged and I gutted it. Probably all the banging around from that ruined the flex joint, and it begain to rattle. So if your existing flex joint was on the car when the cat was replaced, theres a chance that it was damaged during that job. Not sure what exact car you have or how its set up but guessing 04+ GP by your user pic. I haven't messed with those, just 97-03.
