Yup would of bought it and parted it out, roof rails, spoiler could of been sold and made up at least half the cost.. Swap the interior and use that for yourself then you can part out everything else or scrap it and still make your money back.. Hell worse case... Offer him less money and go out and get it. As far as keeping it and fixing it.. Wouldn't bother sounds like to much rust to the point where it's not worth saving.
You raise some good points about parting it out. That's not what I would do if I picked it up. I'd sink the money into it and get it back on the road. That's my problem. Haha
You're overestimating the worth of most of these parts. Daytona/SE/40th roof rails and spoilers don't quite go for what they used to. CAN you get $200 for each if you wait around long enough for the perfect timing of combining a buyer willing to pay that much and no one else to buy a set through? Sure, but you might be waiting around for a while. $150 for the rails and slightly below that for the spoiler is the far more common price these days. And aside from the crosslaces, the SE/40ths came with the most hated stock GP wheels. The likelihood of getting $200 for them is slim to none, as you'd be hard pressed enough to find someone that likes them to begin with, let alone is willing to pay to swap over to them. Trans will be a gamble, as we don't know what state it's in. Not saying he won't still make money on the deal, but not quite as much as you're stating.Quote:

Had the guy send me some additional pics. I'm still torn. Its relatively clean from rust. The rockers were pretty good. I would need to inspect the floor a little better but it is in better shape than mine in terms of rust.
Had him send me some additional pics. Yeah I know its 600 bucks, thats change really but i wouldn't buy to part out. I would put it on the road. Im still sitting on my 40th anny rims. Id take 150 for them but no one wants them.

You could probably sell the hood for $350-$400 depending on how the paint is. **** there is a guy trying to sell a Galaxy Silver Daytona Hood for $400 and the clear coat on it is ****.
Asking price, and price they sell/go for are 2 different things. You can ask as much as you like. Doesn't mean anyone will be willing to pay it.
Yarbeau, it's your money, your call. But for what a mint condition '01 GTP SE is worth, financially, it would be foolish to buy it for restoration purposes. If you can hunt one down out SW with low miles and a clean body, even with the cost of flying out there and driving it back, or shipping it to you, you'd still save money AND have a better condition car than that thing will ever be.

This thing is still for sale. I have been away on holidays and figured it would be long gone. Its an hour drive from the city which deters people.
I am still completely on the fence. I could buy it just for spare parts and swap the SE parts onto a clean GTP..... DECISIONS
