This is like Powerball in reverse. Your vin# is your lottery ticket and GM just announced that every ticket is a winner.

I have a cobalt also, so when I got the notice in the mail I gave the dealer a call and they told me they would call me when the parts come in. That was back in may, the waiting list is ridiculous....

I've kind had this happen to me I was on my way into school one time and my lanyard was under my but when I was driving and when I shifted in my seat it went into the acc. I didn't know what was going on so I slammed on the breaks and it slowed down and I just muscled it into a drive way to figure out what was going on, restart and the go on my way... Not to sound like a tool but moving the wheel while moving wasn't very difficult. But honestly I could see a young teenage girl our someone with not as much muscle mass as probably all of us guys and gal (Danielle) have. I think that it's the initial 'what the phuck is going on' and then freaking out that gets people in trouble.

Representing all the N/A out there. Fastest stock N/A you will ever come across.

Honestly..if you don't know enough about your car to handle it stalling (crank sensor, maf sensor etc etc can also cause a stall) then you shouldn't be driving.

Also..you've likely never read the owners manual. While i don't typically read them all...they do contain a great amount of info for someone who isn't knowledgeable in the vehicle.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

It still boggles my mind that people haven't figured out to shift the car to neutral and restart it while in motion.

Trying to understand the difference between the 98 Intrigue (recalled) and the 98 Grand Prix (not recalled). The Intrigue's key looks a little wider where the Grand Prix is Square, but not much of a difference.. So what gives? Why the '98 Intrigue and not the '98 Grand Prix?

my car died in motion so many times between all of the modifications with no tune and having to fix things on it that i've done it well over a handful of times. it was literally not a big deal.

all of these recalls are for the underbelly of society. the ones just waiting to sue a company to get a few bucks ahead, no cares in the world about the effects it has on anyone else. i won't be the first guy to say that america has some serious issues with entitlement.

That's because you and many of us on here know how to handle a vehicle unlike the majority of the people in this country

    I couldn't agree more.

And as to the throwing it in neutral thing, this is something I learned very early in driving. One night I was driving my Bronco II when it backfired (actually shot a fireball out the exhaust) and shut down. I dropped it into neutral, tried restarting it (with no luck) and let the momentum keep me going until I could safely pull it to the side of the road.

It is absolutely mind boggling that people don't know things like that.

I agree. At this rate it's just a matter of time before GM goes outta business and a lot more ppl, including myself, are out of a job.

I think the wholw auto industry is reevaluating a lot of their cars I think because of the lawsuit GM had. I know Chrysler is recalling some cars for the ignitions.
