So since putting the Addco sway bar on my exhaust bangs against it constantly. I just can't take it anymore and other than getting a new pipes that are custom bent I can't find another solution. Can anyone think of anything better? I put bushings between them but that only works for so long until they are pushed away. The driver side bangs the most but i think the passenger might too judging my the way the pipe looks under the sway bar.

I wonder if your exhaust rubber hangers are all loose and scretched out and allow the exahust to move around more.

are all the other hangers in place? if not replace them.

worst comes to worst, try a hammer to dent where the bar hits the pipes. or put some jack stands under the pipe to hold it up then bend the pipes with a pry bar. old pipes are soft and bend easy, so be careful.

All the hangers are there but they are old. I think even with new hangers though they'd still hit a lot since the sway bar is on top of it all the time. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture but the sway bar is touching the exhaust pretty much right on the center. I'll try bending the pipes and hopefully they won't break.

I've been wanting to do some exhaust work to the car but as you can see there's a lot of rust and I'm not sure how much more money I want to sink into it. I am looking for a rust free GP with relatively low miles and would swap everything though. Maybe if it breaks it just gives me a reason.

Any idea how many hangers there are? I've seen at least 4 I know but don't remember the exact number.

If that pipe is good enough to work with a little, I've seen muffler guys torch and bend the pipe somewhat. But there has to be some way to get leverage. I think any decent local exhaust shop could probably chop out a small section of pipe and bend another for not too much $, just enough to get the clearance you need. Tailpipes cost $80 a side where I go, but if you just had two little bends installed I'm thinking fifty bucks or so.
