Hello everyone, first time poster here. Been reading along ever since I bought my first Grand Prix about 3 months ago. First major problem came up a couple weeks ago. I spun rod bearings #3 and #4. rebuild would take too long and too much money. Found one in one of the local yards, price was right. Got the "new" motor Friday night. Test drove last night. Feels weak and I noticed the boost pressure only comes up a little bit when you stand on it. It used to peg. Original motor= 2000 series 2 3800, replacement= '98 regal same. Both engines similar in miles. compared specs on line, both state 240 horse. No codes. New motor runs good, smooth, nice idle, sounded great with exhaust off. Was wondering if anyone had any clues to where my boost is?

Found 2 of the brand new rubber boots ripped at the t under the snout. Courtesy of Advance Auto Parts. So I google the boost bypass valve and found a n adjustment procedure. They call it a mod. Problem solved. Thank you for your help.
