We have a 2007 GP Base with 170,000 miles, and it has a pretty good coolant leak. If you look under the hood on the pulley side, you can see it just about everywhere, like it must be spraying while it's running. On the belt. other pulley's, cables, etc. I have to admit I do not know which one is the water pump, but it looks like it may be starting where the hose from the lower radiator (passenger side) runs up into the engine. The hose looks tight, and doesn't appear to be leaking. I stuck my hand down there and it was sticky, but not wet.

We're going to be taking it in Friday, but I wondering if there was something you guys could think of that I could check? Or any thoughts as to what it could be?

Is there a way that I can verify that it's the coolant elbows on my own??

I think I found them. Behind the alternator there are two hoses, one is nice and clean, and the other is just caked in coolant.

    Bingo you win.

Grab some from the parts store.. There's aluminum heater elbows.. Cost like $12 and so far they solve the issues with the brittle plastic ones breaking. Congrats you just saved yourself a bunch of money that the dealer would of charged you lol

    To much work guy ^

Passenger side of the engine bay toward the back of the fire wall.. You'll see the accessories tensioner.. And then you should be able to see to coolant elbows (more then likely yours are plastic) wipe the error and see if there signs of coolant. This are very common and wash to replace.

So is the next thing you are going to tell me that they are easy to replace? It's the one furthest from the alternator towards the overflow. It's even wobbling if you move it around.

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...coolant-elbows

47065HP is the p/n for the elbows

it comes with both..so go ahead and replace both elbows.. a little bit of oil or Vaseline on the elbows orings will help them slide easier

Ended up taking this one in so that I knew for sure what the issue was. It ended up being the water pump. Also the front bushings are shot. = Bend Over
