Cool I'm exited to fix it.
Do starter rebuilders pull it out for you or i have to do it there?
you have to take it out, then bring it to the re builder, or the parts store, both want the old core.
its just 2 bolts holding it up, and 2 wires need to come off.
I found this on amazon
Db Electrical Sdr0046 Bonneville Starter 3.8 95 96 97 98 99 00 01 02 03 04 05 by DB Electrical http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Y867DA/..._GLZltb1BPZRVJ
Seems to have good reviews.
Any opinions?
Thanks. I guess I'll go for it
Ok. I wanted to share with you how happy I am. And thankful.
God bless you guys.
Today I replaced the starter that made the noise with that 50 dollar one from Amazon.
Now the car is perfect. No noise and start in a snap.
It could cost me a lot of time and money figuring it up.
Even the mechanic said it's the hub or something.
Thanks again guys.
Glad to hear it. This forum and the Impala forum have saved me quite a bit of money. I have one thing left to fix on the $1600 estimate repair I was given by a shop I previously trusted. When it's all said and done, it will be well under $200 in parts and fluids. It cost me a Saturday, but since I like working on my car, it was worth it.
