well due to a boneheaded move (my brother) a switch was put in that didnt have a key so my dad drilled the old one out because we couldnt get it out for the life of me. So today i go out and we put the other switch in and yea it turns and all but it doesnt engage at all. So how the hell do i go about changeing the ignition column. The 2 star bolts came out easy but there are 2 bolts that are smaller than a 4 and i just dont ****ing know. Im starting to hate this damn car

Remove all the lower dash trim. The column is held in by 4 nuts and one bolt on the outside I believe for the rack. It's been awhile since I had to do one so I may be forgetting something.

when you turn the key it turns a lever that turns that black box. maybe look into that. or the tumblers.

if it comes to changing the column, you need to unplug the harness under the dash and on the right side airbag and radio control wires. therre maybe another wire to unplug mid way up the column.

theres like 2 brackets with a bolt on each side that holds it up, then at the bottom is a boot, pull the boot down and take the 11 mm bolt out, then slide the intermediate shaft off. wheels straight this bolt is on the left side of the shaft.
