My high beams are not working. I replaced the fuses and bulbs. The night they stopped working, the clamp on the negative terminal on my battery had a lose connection. I received a "battery charging failure" (or something like that) message on my dic. A few minutes later, there was a pop noises and the high beams died. Any clues on how to fix?

No, sir. Probably something my local parts store would have? How would I go about using it to diagnose the problem?

do you have any way to solder? I made a test lamp with speaker wire and a taillight bulb in a tight spot, but you can get better results using a multi-meter and measure the ohms to source a short somewhere.

With a volt meter you can check to see if you are getting power to your headlight. Remove your headlight and pull the bulb out of the connector. With the volt meter, stick a probe into each hole of the connector (doesn't matter at this point which is negative or positive, it will just give a positive or negative reading on the meter) turn on your headlight switch and see if you are getting anything at all. If you are getting power, you should get either a 12 or -12. If you are getting no reading on the meter, I would start with checking the condition of the connectors and wires. Since you are saying both are out, I would be willing to bet you have a busted fuse so double check your fuses as well and make sure you are looking at the correct fuse in the diagram in the fuse box. There have been a few times where I glanced and got the fuses confused with other ones. And make sure you use the correct size fuse. i.e. If it's a 10 amp, use a 10 amp. Hope this works, if not then let me know so I can help further.
