Seems the heat is alot hotter now, will keep my eye out but thanks for everything
but in summer time you get ton of people complaining that there ac dont work lol then the same when it starts to get cold. i think everyone need ot move to FL its nice there lol
you ever been to FL? its not all that great in my book, its f ing hot, and humid most of the year. it rains for 15 minutes every damn day lol and then a hurricane can come at any time during the end of summer and wipe your town off the map. no thanks.
Today heat was working fine no issues as I was warming up the car in -32C weather. I was driving to work and my windows started to fog up and then I realized that I could not hear or feel the heat blowing, I put my hand in the front vents and its coming out very weak not blowing alot air, I have the knob at about just under half. I move the knob pass the half way mark and then I can feel the air I moved it back down to the half mark and it seems the blower speed is not blowing hard anymore. If I have the knob off and move it up towards the halfway I can barley feel the air, if I move pass the half mark the blower comes on full blast. Can it be the knob thats broken or the blower?
Thanks
5 what?
Is that easy to change?

Well its that time of the year again well almost , I tried my heat today in the grand prix 08 and it was not hot at all, it was blowing just air. Before I flush heater core again I wanted to see if I should change the thermostat, I found this youtube video and it looks easy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sccV_4R2Ts I have not flushed the coolant yet as Scottydoggs suggested because last year after I did the heater core flushed I left the water in there from the garden whose and the heat worked fine. Thanks again
if you never changed your coolant get to it. it stops protecting as well as it should. so it can freeze if cold enough. i know it gets could up north.
most coolant is good for like 5 years.
t stat, change it if you want to. if the temps are in check theres no real need to. we do have a rubber ring around the t stat. mine was trashed. it dont come with a new t stat, its sold separately for like 2 or 3 bucks.
Thanks again, will change the coolant and go from there, either will do it myself or get it done at the local shop. I know its not hard its just finding time to do it and especially with a young one is not easy. I read over your steps again to flush the rad and it looks pretty easy,
Do I need to bleed it only once until I see steady stream of coolant?
most of the time thats all it takes. but if your temp needle starts to have wide swings, it needs to be bleed again.
shop, or by yourself it should be done. cheaper then replacing the engine due to a cracked engine block.
It's been awhile since I updated this post, we'll after getting the coolant flush and the thermostat changed in December I had good heat but just last month I starter to notice that the heat is weak again. It's not blowing hot air it's blowing warm/cold air. It's enough to defrost my windows but you can notice a big temperature drop when it's - 30c outside. What can be the issue now? Coolant was flushed and new thermostat was put in. Can it be the blower or the blend door if that is what you call it.
You can usually floor it and feel the heat get hotter, does it? It could push air out, but naturally it will get warmer from that. If not it may be a door issue, but flushing the heater core is the best guess. I've flushed them twice in a row on cars and got stuff both times.

If the car is running for awhile and when I go in the car is warm, it seems like when it's really cold outside the heat is not hot enough to keep up. I guess will flush it again, the shop did it for me last time as I brought the car in to get other work done on it. Do I leave the water in the hose and then reattach them?
