Yeah, I don't think he was out to purposefully scam anyone either.

But having good intentions and following through are definitely two different things these days.

well, time to start pushing harder. put out the product and get things moving.

this has been too long and you owe the people that gave you the money the respect of finishing this up in a timely manner. pay someone out of your pocket to finish it if you need to.

push the dude's buttons. make something happen. no one wanted to see this last 6 months because you're terrible at finding people who are able to weld.

realistically, why is the video of the actual welding necessary?

here are the parts you need: x, y, and z.

here is where i cut/modified: (pictures)

    weld these pieces together: (pictures)

    here's what you get: (pictures)
seems completely fool proof and you wouldn't be wasting time waiting for someone to be cool with you videoing while they weld, which i wouldn't be either. it's a liability. that'd be too easy, though. it's gotta be some awesome production when it could have been accomplished with little effort.

how is a video going to be easier to follow along with then a properly setup walk through with text and pictures?

    answer: it won't be.

    I agree with you.

From day one it has been my belief that this was all about another Slo-SHO production and this was a way to finance it without it costing him much/anything.

I planned on keeping the video unlisted with the link posted here.
No one but 3800 people would even see it.

I agree. Quality pics and detailed text step by step is much easier to follow when working on a car. I wouldn't let someone take a vid of me tig'ing either, I don't think any of my co workers would. Not to mention most ppl won't be welding these them self anyways.

My $.02 Finish your project, we do appreciate the info! Just go step by step as apose to a fancy video.

Tig or mig will last plenty long. I can careless about a video I understand nobody wanting you to video them for liability reasons. Pictures and a descriptions like bio suggest that you cut x,y,z and weld x, to z etc would do just fine. At this point you waited long enough just get it done. I thought I'll be patient and wait for your information but at this point I'm better off taking the time to build a jig and just mod them the original way.

Nick, If you'd like I can ask that buddy if he'd be willing to let you film him welding. He welds so nicely, you'd likely run out of memory with all the fitment and rechecking of fitment to ensure the end product is amazing. Same guy that did a lot of work for Swiggles.

Say the word and I can likely have an answer back within an hour.

This was my problem all along. When a project has a lack of a defined plan of who, what, how, why, when, it has a larger propensity to fail. Go back and look at the beginning of the thread where I asked a bunch of questions looking for definition of the project. There was none. Without definition, focus and contingencies, things are more likely to fail.

But I do agree that the actual, physical welding of the components together is not really necessary. I don't care what the back to the guys head looks like when he is laying a bead. Completely pointless. But you can still make a damn good video with showing the before product, the layout of where to cut, what to cut, how to cut, what pieces and tools to use. Show where things are going to be welded. And just what it looks like after it is welded. The actual welding process is nothing new or specific to this project. It is merely welding two pieces of metal together. No need to have a video of that.

This sounds like a great idea. Maybe you can find someone who will let you take pics of the stuff as it gets welded, then you can edit the pics into the video.

Wouldn't a person have talked to the shops manager about what they were looking to do, and get permission BEFORE starting a project? Sounds pretty sketchy, or extremely unorganized!
