Well you don't know what he's going to do yet. Don't be so sure the video will be exactly the same as the post about the jig.

Just chill man, you haven't donated so you're not even part of the project. No need to criticize when the results have not yet been posted.

Well no **** obviously I'll have them rewelded. No I don't have the space to build a jig atm. So what point are you getting at? Again OP is not asking you to donate that's your choice if you do or not but you seem to want to go out of your way to sway people away from supporting this. Leave that up to them to decide and not crap his thread.

More of a visual then anything and not just a picture of the final product.

Edit: Again it's not your money! Point blank you don't have to be on board with his so called soliciting method.. Don't post in here then you can simply skip over the thread and go about enjoying the site. You make it seen like its a being Inconvenience to you that this thread even exists.

Whoa, a little overreaction here. Or reading into something that isn't there. This was my question:

Just a point of clarification; are you going to modify the headers to match what PWNED received?
As I said, just trying to clarify since the original posting isn't clear. The original posting simply talks about the 'quality' of the headers. Not a general plan of what is going to be done. I understand Nick can't give me a breakdown of "I'm going to cut here at this angle, and weld this at this angle with this PN, and cut this and weld here." But he can say that he is going to modify the downpipe to eliminate the drainpipe bend. Or reconfigure the crossover to fit better and install easier. Both of those things are what WBS is doing the headers they are welding.

Another issue that wasn't discussed, but is a huge point when talking about headers is the ease of installation. Everyone has said WBS headers fit great and have no problems with installing them or leaks once installed. If Nick is going to modify a set of headers, I would want to know how well they fit and ease of installation. I would suggest that part of the project is a video of the install by the recipient of the headers. That is a huge part of headers and IMO should be addressed.

Overall, I am interested in donating. Not to get a set of headers, because I already have a set of SD headers that I modified myself, so I don't need them. But I am interested in donating if it helps make a clear how-to on taking a cheap set of headers and making them great. But if Nick is only interested in making a couple random cuts and replicating the same 'quality' of headers, but not the same design, I'm out. If his intent is to basically create a How-to on how to replicate the headers same WBS sells and PWNED received, but only for much less, then I'm in and will donate.

Without getting into specifics, the headers will be higher quality when I'm done with them.
Both the fit and finish will be addressed.

    Thanks for the reply.

As mentioned, I would be down with donating if the plan was a little more thought through and laid out (you can PM me if you want). But at this point I don't really want to be part of a project that could turn into a fiasco. If you lay a general, basic plan ahead of time I'd be in. But to donate to a project that is so very general that it leave potential to be a huge debacle, I'm out.

In general, most projects that people run and go out looking for money to fund them, a general plan is laid out ahead of time. A good startup businesses will write a business plan to get loans or investors. Research projects need to write a grant proposal to get funding. I hope that all goes well with this project. But at this point, I have not seen where the work is well thought out and thus I cannot help fund it. As mentioned if you want to PM me, we can chat about it. I'm a manufacturing engineer in the metal fabrication industry and I've done my own set of SD headers, so I may be able to help too.

The headers are going to the best fabricator in Connecticut.
I understand if you don't want in, that's fine.

It shouldn't blow anyone's mind. I'm simply showing people who are willing to take a couple small steps how to save 50% on their header purchase.

I am just pointing out to the new members to this forum and to car modding that there is already a solution for these headers. Also I would like to point out that this is not how the information on this forum is usually presented (free).

I have contributed my share to this forum and the community. I have even created a couple of How To: threads and didn't take a cent.

You're showing people how a typical business make money anymore seems more of a fitting explanation.

If there wasn't already a solution I would say you were on to something.

Buying some clamps and taking the headers to someone else to weld them isn't new information.
