I'm doing the diy aux input on my stock radio. I have it all done, and it won't turn on at all. When I first removed it(from the dash but still hooked up), it was working fine, I pressed the time button and the display lit up. Then I removed just the faceplate(with the radio still plugged in) and I pressed the time buttons again and nothing happened. I just assumed that was because the contacts on the face plate were no longer on the main circuit board.(there are little metal tabs on it that go on the circuit board) The wire that goes to it was still plugged in though. Well now I'm done with the mod and still even when completely assembled, the same problem happens. What I do notice is that when I plug the radio in to the car with the key off, the CD player makes noise for a second. Still doesn't light anything up.
Anyone have any ideas as to why? I'll look more into it tomorrow, but if anyone has any idea whether or not it's supposed to make that noise when you plug it in(that would be helpful to know), or anything else in general as to why it might not be working, please let me know. I want to keep the stock radio, and I don't even think I can get a JY one because of theft lock.
