Looks like on these L67 head-gaskets the arrow faces the wrong way? Can anyone confirm?

What do you mean? When I put the gaskets on with the arrow facing the front of the motor, there's a lot of overhang and it doesn't look it lines up good. Put it on with the arrow facing back and it's nice and lined up, no excessive overhang.

See, the problem with that is that the heads are on. When I put it together like that it seemed right, and someone else online, over at pennock's says "I've read I should have bought l36 gaskets just because the arrow on the gasket is facing the wrong direction." in reference to Cometic's L67 gaskets.

generally the arrows point to the front of the engine. where the pulleys are.

    not sure with this brand.

See, that's USUALLY the case, but they just didn't look right like that, and like I said this guy over at Pennock's said they're supposedly stamped wrong as well.

I don't ****ing know, but I want to figure this out before I rip it apart again to flip the damn things over.

Did all the coolant passages line up? I remember it being obvious if they were backwards. Pretty sure when I did mine they do hang over to the exhaust side quite a bit.

Can't get photos on this forum for reason? Any how click the link above to see the normal overhang of the Cometic head gasket. Mine are copper color because I sprayed them with copper spray.

Mine's the same way, I meant that when I put them on one way, the left edge was hanging way off the deck and the right side didn't fully cover it. flip them over and the two grooves lined up with the deck perfectly.

Put cometics on from intense. They are labeled left and right and have arrows towards the pulleys. The water passage holes are different left to right for proper water flow through the block.

Well.. they didn't seem right like that, but I guess this means I have to pull them and flip them over now.

Oh **** me, I put the left one on the back, I mean if you're looking at the engine from the front, that's left.. so that one's on back and the other is on front.

Bumper is left, firewall is right and the water pump/pulleys is where the arrows point.

Well, I guess I'll have to pull the heads and, flip 'em and switch sides, then. Gonna need some new head bolts now

IIRC one of the gaskets will have the arrow facing the wrong direction. I know guys (including me) usually just opt for the L26/36 because the tend to be cheaper and are marked correctly and the same thickness etc
Squirrels are my engine. I need a Ford Regal

Who's are marked wrong? Zzp and Intense don't sell the same thickness Cometic gaskets and I have never heard they were marked wrong before.

He already has a set installed front to back!
