Ok, so my stock headlights started getting really crappy. Not sure if it was from sun or what but I tried all sorts of things to clean them up and get rid of the hazing...Nothing worked. OK time for some new headlights..

I decided I might try the HID lights. I did some reading and found I would also need projector lens. Well, I looked around and found a set on ebay: 8000K Slim Xenon HID Black 04 08 Pontiac Grand Prix Halo Projector LED Headlight | eBay

It was a projector lens plus hid conversion kit bundled together. Got them and installed. Looked cool until I went for a drive. Realized I needed to adjust them. Thats when I found a problem. It looks as if the light is just scattered around. There is no definitive lines or light.

Are these defective, crap or am i doing this all wrong?

Here are some pics. The first two are from when I was trying to align the lights. The second 2 are close up on the garage door...Is this normal?

I don't know if them being that bad is normal but generally speaking they are garbage lights. Either run the hids in your stock housings our retrofit a pair of headlights for the best output.

Yea i have them and the hids they come with are absolute ****. I threw in some 100w reg bulbs and they are brighter. Im either going to order some hids off vvme or just get some new stock housings and retrofit them.

Are you saying HID's are garbage lights or the projectors are a garbage housing? Should I run quality halogen lights in the projector or run HID's in the stock housing? I have alos heard running HID's in a stock housing is bad as the light inst focused properly and may blind other drivers.
I just want better lighting and the wife likes the LED's and HALO lights on this housing

As you can tell im a noob when it comes to this

Retrofit is the best, by far. It also costs the most though.

LMAO no sh*t....horrible. Even the halogen bilbs that came with the projector looked better. Maybe Ill just try and snap some good 100 watt H1 halogens in there and see what it looks like. Can nayone recommend any reputable brands/sellers?

I was saying the housings are garbage. Honestly if I were you I'd send them back and get my money back and then put that money towards a retrofit or a quality hid kit.

Thats is exactly what I have learned in this whole process. I have decided I am no longer going with HIDs.

Since apparently these projectors are designed for halogens, would using a good halogen still work ok.

All the ebay cheap hid kits suck... ballast are crap and the bulbs are crap. I've had nothing but problems with my headlight hid's... Huge reliability issues... New bulbs and ballast replaced under warranty a half of dozen times already...
