Im in the same place. Where do you get a replacement pad in the first place? I would bet you'd have to start by pulling the instrument panel cover off, then remove every bolt you can find anywhere on the front end of the cab?!?

It comes out as one piece. I did this not too long ago for my neighbor kid. Pull the cluster, trim panel, a pillars then unbolt what you find. Wiggle and you'll find the bolts you are missing.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

bill posted a pic of the dash out, the steering column needed to be un bolted and lowered out of the way, and lots of wires need to be unhooked from what i saw in the pic.

What's he mean by a pillars and it dosent seem like itd be Necessary to drop the column, he was just trying to find the burnt wire, plus I'm wanting to get a pad with a hud already cut out stock plus mines cracked and faded, so basically start but removing trim then speedo and glove compartment, then a few screws here and there then wiggle and does it have any clips?

A-pillars = vertical trim panels along the edges of the windshield. Goes from dash to headliner.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
