While at the local salvage yard I was searching for misc. GP parts I came across this aftermarket item in the car. Wires ran from the back of the unit to under the dash someplace, I didn't investigate further. Anyone know what this is or what it is used for?

Looks like the car was a BHPH car, after you'd make your payment youd get a code you had to put in to keep your car running for a week till you made your next one.
