    would a 92-96 shifter fit on my 02 grand prix looking to redo that whole area on car ordering new boot and all and liked the look of the 96 and wondered

    It might not be a direct bolt it, but the shifter would work, it has the same detent.

    Same detent doesn't mean the same cable ends, same attachement method etc.

    Best way to answer this is to hit a junkyard and test fit stuff. I recently put a Caddy shifter into my Regal, it was 3 inches too low, the cable was totally different and the holder at the cable end was the wrong shape and in the wrong place.

    With some work, yes nearly anything can work. Question is... if it's not a direct fit.. is that a deal breaker?

    It's early.. I skim and post on a whim. You ain't tellin me a thing about custom moddin. I'll take that shifter and raise you a whole bunch of stuff.
