While driving my 06 GXP last night, I noticed the lights in the shifter weren't lit up. My dad's 07 base doesn't light up either, but the Comp G one does. Is it just a coincidence both of the others are out, or do they just not light up for 06+?

most people don't change them cause they can be a PITA as you have to remove the centre console to get at it.

I just did mine last week, lol

true, but for someone who hasn't done it before or isn't too mechanically inclined...may seem like a big job. Which it isn't. 4 10mm bolts i believe. Put your ebrake on (or press the brakes if it doesn't work, lol) Put your shifter in 1st and it should just slide right out.

General those people that think that'a a pain in the ass to do a) usually don't join a forum for that car b) don't modify their car c) ignore it and keep on trucking d) will probably pay a mechanic before they attempt to fix anything on their car

The shifter lite in my 06 is out too but I really never notice it as I have a pretty good idea where the shifter needs to be without looking and the DIC displays gear selected when shifting.

Oddly enough I looked at my shifter a few months back and noticed the indicator light was out. I was going to swap it out eventually, but I looked down one day recently and it was working again.

If I hadn't seen this thread, I never would have known there was a light down there. Mine's been burnout since we got the car in Febuary. Just replaced mine today in about 15 minutes. Easy job. I got these for $1.58 shipped from Quadratec.
