So my step-cousin wants to get rid of a GXP he got in on a trade with his sister, and came to me first to see if I wanted it before he got rid of it. It has around 103,000 miles on it, I think it needs tires before winter, and it has a dent like it was scraped, about a foot long and 6 inches tall on the drivers door. I think it might be somewhat easily fixed. And with my Comp G engine possibly being bad I'm considering it.
He wants $7,000 and my grand am for it (worth maybe around $1000). I was thinking maybe seeing if he would go to $6500 and my grand am. Does it seem like a decent deal at that price?

I don't plan on doing mods other than LED lights and a trans cooler, so no worries on the cost of that once I get it.

I have one picture of it from around Christmas next to the Comp G.

tl;dr: GXP 103k miles, needs tires in autumn, dent in door, $7500-$8000. Does it seem like a decent deal at that price?

Seems like a good deal...as long as the tranny is good

If it is mechanically sounds, it sounds fair. I would certainly have a reputable body shop give you an estimate for fixing the door before doing a deal.

Seriously check the tranny, watch the fluid temps and how it shifts (just because the fluid is clean, doesn't mean its good)
