I used be on this site a lot more but havnt been on in prolly a year. Looking to add se parts to my car. My question is. If I got headers what should I get? How much would mechanic charge to install? Also cam or rockers? What would the cost of installation be on that?

    Thanks

Headers you can get cheap ones but a mechanic is gonna charge you probably 7-8 hours to do it if they will even do it. Cam install will probably be about the same. Rockers like 3-4 hours. If you do them yourself you'll save a ton of money.

I've never done anything like it so I feel like I wouldn't be Able to. I don't have access to a lift either..

no need for a lift. I do all my own work with a jack and some jack stands in my garage at home. Rockers are super easy anyone could do them. Headers are a little more involved and a cam isn't something that should be done without a knowledge of the inner workings of the motor.

Is there a thread here that is a DIY for rockers or headers?

I know there is a header one. Billboost37 started it. I'm not sure about rockers but on those the hardest part is getting the valve covers off.

Would they come with any directions? What ones would you recommend ?
Would I need to add any other parts to run them properly
    Tune?

I ran zzp modded 1.9 rockers with no problems for 30K miles. You wouldn't need any other parts or a tune but you'll benefit from it.

If you can get a set kinda cheap it's worth it. It killed a lot of my KR

Headers and rockers would I notice anything?

I would prolly have to get a tune. Idk where I would tho. I'm assuming a can tune wouldn't help all that much. I'm in CNY area

Headers and rockers probably won't add any noticeable power, but you would be able to run a smaller pulley, and that is where you will notice an increase in power.

Run smaller without a tune? Like a 3.4 or 3.5?

What about 1.84 YT rockers and a down pipe. Would down pipe be easier than headers and still be able to drop a pulley?

    Thanks

Headers and rockers could easily run a 3.4

Rockers and a dp probably could run a 3.5 but you wouldn't really know unless you we're scanning for kr

Headers and rockers I'd be safe on 3.4 without scanning?
