i am about 95% sure that my kr woes are mechanical in nature. today at 40mph i went 10% throttle and was getting 5 kr degrees. got my wife to sit in the driveway put car in drive and womp the gas. it was reading kr and i looked under the the car to see the exhaust moving down considerably during throttle, about two inches down. i imagine this will cause the headers to hit the swaybar. i replaced the motor mount 9 months ago as well.

so how much should it move? will holding the brakes down in drive and hitting the gas properly mimic the normal driving kr i am seeing?

Motor should not move very much at all. The top dog bones mounts do alot to keep the engine from going backwards or forwards.

What motor mounts did you use? Stock of poly?

Your trans mounts may need replaced.

Stock motor mount, didn't touch the trans mount but I can tell you the exhaust dipped quite a bit when torquing it up. Front dog bones are flipped too.

pop the hood, start the car, then hold the brake, shift from p to r then to d, if its moving more then a inch or 2 while shifting it in and out of gear the mounts are bad.

your dog bone mounts could be just shot to hell to even flipped. but the trans mount being old could also be letting it move as well. trans mount is easier then the motor mount. all bolts are easy to get to.

When I gassed it up in D with brake on, the exhaust moved considerably downward, a good 2 inches, I was surprised.
Will look at the trans mount this weekend

i mean the top of the engine it should not move more then 2 inches or so tops with new mounts when shifted in and out of gear.

if the top of the engine top is moving, the exhaust will be moving as well.

you can also with the car off, put the e brake on, then put the car in neutral, then grab the snout and TB, then push and pull the engine, if all is good mount wise, you should not be able to move the engine at all.

Top of the engine moves minimal but when I give is gas in drive with the brakes on, the motor dips a fair bit in Drive & bumps up slightly in Reverse. Trans mount look ok to me as well.
