I dont know if this is the right section but, what are the best type of tires out there? One that will last long (Or the normal 50-60k miles) all terrain and good all around tires. Its time to get new tires for our SUV and we want to know what is the best ones for the best price or cheapest price. We get rain and lots of sun over here in So Cal and the roads are kinda rough in some places so we would like to have the best all terrain tires. We go up to Nor Cal every now and then and so some tires for like dirt roads would be good too. My bro mention looking at mud tires or those big fast ones on them red neck raised up trucks. Would those last longer or should we just stick with good all terrain tires? Also want a good set that wont get them dang Bolts on the road stuck into the tires. On our GP we had these Viva brand and we got like a total of 9 bolts stuck into one of our tires. So we want one thats tough, wont slip in the rain cause these thing slips a lot in the rain even when putting little throttle (The ones on right now are good year wrangler which i think is stock ones, and our worn out so that might explain some of the slipping.). So ya one thats really good and last long and is good in rain or dirt roads and hot summer roads too.

So far im thinkg about Goodyear tires, which ones would you guys recommend that are good all terrain, great tires? The tires for our SUV is going to be expensive cause they are bigger than a cars so we want the best ones we can get for a good low price. Ill be researching some tires right now but i do want your guys opinion too. Thanks in advance and BTW here is our tires size and stuff:

M+S P265/60R18 109T SUV is i think limited to 110 but im not sure and nor are we going to go that fast in this big tank.

the longer they last, the more like hockey pucks they'll become as they age.

The more off road traction they provide, the louder they'll be on road.

The more winter traction they offer, the faster they'll break down in the summer.

The softer the compound, the more they cost.

So buy some wranger SRA's or something in that class. The Michelin in that class is pretty good as well.

True, they will turn into stones if they last really long. Thanks for the info i can see i need something in the middle.

How about the Goodyear Silent armor tires?
Wrangler SilentArmor Tires | Goodyear Tires

Or should we stick with the Wrangler SRA? Just want one that is tough and provides good ride comfort and and take it off road once in a long while like on dirt roads. And handles really well in rain and wet conditions. BTW id put the loudness of the tires as the last thing i want, not a priority. But i dont want one thats will annoy the hell out of us.

Also forgot to mention, Is the Lifetime Alignment at Firestone worth it and do they good job on it too? I know people say they will try to get you to buy other stuff or say that you need something. When really you dont need anything. There is a Firestone across the street from my house and they have 5 stars on yelp, so i was thinking about getting the Alignment from them. What you guys think?

When you genuinely don't need anything? Or just when you don't think you need anything?

I believe some on here have done the firestone alignment successfully.

I'd check on Tirerack for reviews on tires and comparing tires in the categories and sizes you're interested in.

I like these threads because I can express my hate for goodyear tires. Never been a fan, though some people stand by them forever.

The wranglers are crappy tires in my opinion, tread life is meh and its just a cheap factory tire. Dodge has always put them on just about every suv/truck they make. For that SUV I would hands down go with a different tire, something way better and that will ride better/last longer.

Look at the Firestone Destination LE2, great tires, cheaper than goodyears on tire-rack and still have the albilty to go offroad. I've seen the original LE's on many vehicles go 50-70K miles without issues, so far from the LE2 I see the same thing going to continue.

Another tire I would look at is the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza, awesome tires. 90% of all Chevy Suburbans, GMC Yukons and Cadillac Escaldes run them from the factory, they ride so smooth and I've seen a few sets last 70-80k miles, though I'd say the avg life it atleast 50-60k miles.

My work stocks both those tires, so I see them very often and that why I'd suggest them over a goodyear product.

I've always like bfg all terrain tires. Pretty good all around tire in my experience. And last 45-60k if you're easy on them.

So would you stand by those tires the Firestone destenation LE2 and Bridgestone dueler H/L Alenza? Ill look em up right now and see how they look.

@ Matt ill check out tirerack and see the reviews but if Fivefingerdeathpunch says the tires he mentioned are really good then im thinking about getting them. But i would like other people imput too. And so you think i should try the Firestones Lifetime Alignment out?

I like them, but thats only an opinion, you have to decide what you want on the truck.

Lifetime alignments are stupid, when you get new tires most places do a check for free to see if you need one done, if its out then do it. You wont need another untill either you replace a front suspension part or break somthing from hitting a massive pot hole or whatever.

Got it, my bro agrees he thinking about getting the alignment from like a ma and pa shop. Getting it done, like a really good one and for a low price.

As for the tires i just looked at it on the site Matt said and it tells me the SRA we have on there right now has a 6.5/10 rating and the Bridgestone you said has a 9.x/10 rating. People have said the Bridgestone and the Firestone Destination LE2 are really good tires. And im thinking getting the Bridgestone since my local Wal Mart has it and im thinking of getting the tires changed with them cause they offer good warranty if the tires get damaged, and i think they will match prices to like sears or Goodyear.

So im thinking about getting one of them, What do you think?

My next set are going to be Michelin Defenders. 98T Rated and a 90k warranty, they will be the last set of tires I buy for this car. I have a set of Multimile Matrix on right now (cheap), and the car came with Arctic Claw studdeds. I HATE the noise from the studs, and I found no appreciable difference in performance between the AC and the MM.

The Multimiles give a decent ride, but they wear quickly even with a 40,000 mile warranty. When I bought them, I had my car for two months, this is my first car BTW. The tire shop never told me that the warranty will only be honored if i rotate every 6,000 and get aligned every 12,000. I put 15,000 miles on these tires and the fronts are down to 4/32nds. The shop basically said "ha ha sucks to be you". The alignment perfect on this car, I could take my hands off the wheel and keep a straight line for a mile.

I looked for the best price, our Acadia has 19". Went to Walmart in the end, they had a Bridgestone ecopia. I checked it out on tirerack, it looked good. It's quite and all season. They should last for a while as the numbers are good. So far snow, rain, ice, dry it goes good. It's an eco tire and the MPG increase 2 mpg average and 5 mpg on the higway.

^^^Nice, so you guys think i should go and get the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza? Also do better tires, such as the one i just suggested here, increase some MPG?

So you guys think i should just get these tires from wal mart? They have good warranty on them and they match prices so ill find the cheapest ones and print them out to show them to match the price. I dont see online that they have the Firestone so you guys think the Bridgestone Dueler H/H Alenza should be great for our Aspen?

I've only dealt with the ecopia's a hand full of times, I don't think they would be the best for a Aspen, its a bigger vehicle, we have more so put them on smaller SUV's.

I would pick from the firestone tire and bridgestone tire, and it also comes down to what you want to spend.

We want to spend not that much on them but willing to spend a little bit more to get some good tires. I looked at the Bridgstone and i like em the Dueler H/L Alenza, ill look at a few more and choose but i think i got my mind set on those. You think those are fine and should last 50-70k miles? The Firestone seems nice too but i dont see them at Wal Mart website so ill check again on those.

With proper rotations and no worn front end parts, they should last 50,000 miles no problem, assuming you do more freeway driving than straight city.

Its kinda mixed with 50/50 Freeway/City. Ya i think ill go with them

Ill look em up the BFG on tirerack.com, the more options the more i get to choose from. Thanks for the all the info guys, i can see now that from the reviews i read from tTirerack and others that the Goodyear kinda sucks. So it looks like im switching to the Bridgstone, BTW you said the Bridgestone is like a luxury/performance tire?

I just got new tire a few days ago but toothy to get pics but ill load em later today. I got the Firestone Destination LE2. Great tires and makes the ride a lot smoother and don't feel the bumps all that much now. Huge tires and seem to be really great on the Aspen, funniest thing is we got these tires from Goodyear. Lol getting Firestone tires from Goodyear. Only reason we got it from here was because they had them already and everyone else, Wal Mart Costco Sears, they all had to Special Order it. Our tires size is huge so they don't have it in stock but good year had it at there sellers warehouse

The boss over at the Goodyear shop was cool an did not BS u on stuff. Brought all four tires for 185$ a tire and got the warranty with it too. The road hazard warranty and plus got the tires filled with nitrogen, plus tax it came up to a total of $995. With tax. What do you guys good price? We get free tire rotations, he matches the prices with tire rack.com since he was going to sell each tire for 199$ each. Anything goes wrong with the tire they will fix it for free if they can not then its replaces for free and under manufacture warranty that these tire WILL last 60k miles. If it does not you get another set of tires for free.

Also they do the brakes for ours for 189 for just the front and double that for front and back. That's about 400$ for front and back maybe a little more with tax but über 500$. You guys thinks that's a good price?
