1998 Grand Prix GTP

Any input on that trans issue?

i would think it will need a rebuild soon anyway. its just territory for the gtp. but 1400 isnt bad. body looks good from pics. if no rust its worth the chance. figure 2 grand give or take when it goes. test drive it. make sure its around 2000 rpm at 70 mph. do a car fax to make sure mileage is right. i have one you can use actually.

Get him down cheaper, take the trans out rebuild the whole thing at that mileage and slap it back together and drive it or sell it.

you can nickle and dime it down. find its flaws and point them out. take it to a shop have them put it on a lift for a quick check. cost you 20 bucks or so. tie rods, hubs.....check engine light. exhaust leak somewhere, struts, axles. on a car that old and someone who didnt baby it, you will find these things, if not all of them. i just bought one matter of fact--01. 15 bucks saved me 400 when i told her the shop said so. i could have found them but having the shop gives you cred. people usually like to do the right thing.

Go for it, it looks nice. Give it good looking over, find flaws, lower price, replace trans and like Matt said, drive or sell it.

Thanks for the input guys. I'd scoop it up but I went to check it out today and it's just made of rust and there was sludge in the coolant. Someone had to have mixed dex and green.
