    So I was looking at the wiring for my Boost gauge from GlowShift and I had a question.
    It has 4 wires on it. A Ground, A Constant 12v, A Switched 12V, and a Headlight 12V(for dimming use... NOt going to do that)

    Well I already plan on running it to my switch I have for other interior lights.... And was wondering if I can just wire the constant and switched together to the hot side of my switch?

    just do the switched and tape the headlight and the constant up

    Will that work? If I only hook up my switched power? Will it cause it to switch colors every time I shut the car off or anything DUMB like that?

    but it claims that it will save colors when you shut the car off so I dont have to change it everytime..

    my buddy had me wire in the temp gauge on his truck. i just did the ground and switched 12v......his stayed the same color at all times unless he pressed the button

    ok. Just just run the switched wire and ground... Ok I think I can do that.

    My glow**** boost gauge is wired with constant and switched together and it doesn't save colors. I have to reset it back to red every time I turn the car off. Was looking at buying autometers just because of that

    Josh, i have my switched and constant wires mixed up.

    The color resets everytime i turn the car off.

    Dont do the dimming wire, its pointless. But make sure you do that switched and constant correctly.

    I don't plan on doing the dimming crap. And colors resetting is exactly what I DON'T want. WE can figure it out when I m all ready for us to install it.

    The constant power is what keeps it from resetting the colors. Make sure that wire is hooked up to constant and not switched power and it will work fine.

    Lemme see if I remember this correctly. I think my experience has been that lacking one of the two power sources, the gauge glowed at half-light.
    Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
    Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
    Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

    so just hook the 12v to like lets say a remote wire for a sub and it should work just fine? without resetting color? or no because the amp shuts off when the cars off

    If you want the memory to work you will have to find a constant power source and tap into it. You can do the at the fuse panel with an add a circuit connector. That way you don't have to cut any wires and splice into your harness. It's the only way to keep the colors from reseting every time you turn the key on.

    the cig lighter has a constant 12v source. it's quite easy to access too
