Any ideas on why I have to hold the button for about 5 seconds to lock the doors? I set the "delay lock" to off in the DIC but it still does it.

    Thanks!

    thewabit,

Did you have the key in the ignition when programming the DIC?

The key must be out of the ignition for this feature to work.

If OFF is selected, there will be no delayed locking of the vehicle’s doors.

If ON is selected, the locking of the vehicle’s doors will be delayed by five seconds after a power door lock switch is pressed when a door is open, or the LOCK button on the remote keyless entry transmitter is pressed while a door is open.

To program this mode, use the following procedure:

    1. Press and release the set/reset button to scroll to either OFF or ON.

    2. Press the options button again to advance to the next screen.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me privately.

This is making me crazy! It appears the delayed locking feature isnt related to this. So when I close the doors, i want to be able to just push the lock button and the doors lock. But I have to hold the button down for at least 5 seconds before they will lock. I have new batteries in the remotes. Help!

    Thanks!
