sounds like a commercial lic. not easy to get, driving part is easy, all the pre trip inspection crap sucks to get right. miss one thing, or not in order, instant fail here in the states.

air brakes have to hold pressure, build back up so fast, and so on. that part of the test is easy 10 plus minutes, and your supposed to do this crap every day, before you drive. and you had best know what a "S cam" is lol

school...... i read the book, took the test. passed said test. 2 times.

truth is i got and gave up my cdl, then had to do it all over again to get it back. i only dropped it because it cost more to renew, and i wasn't using it at the time. bad move, i should have paid up and kept it.

I got to get give you credit, just reading books there is no way i could remember all that lols, not book learner at all, but the schoolgivez you a ptdi certificate, which makes insurance cheaper, so easier to get jobs cause it the insurance that hires, not the job/company

it was one book, covered everything, from air brakes to straight jobs, class B and A to single and double trailers, then the last 1/2 was all hazmat.

if you needed hazmat, thats where i'd hit up a school, that test is not easy at all. i skimmed it, and i dont want one lol

so you take a written air brake test,(30 questions) then general knowledge test,(75 questions) then a month later you go for the road test. in cab pre trip, out side the truck pre trip, then you drive around the closed road coarse , right turns, and backing up to a dock. if you passed all that, now they take you out on the high way and local streets.

seen people pass it all, and then fail the real road test driving part. not checking mirrors or not coming to a full stop, cutting off oncoming traffic and so on, instant fail.

and to tell the truth, i'd need to re read the book to do a proper pre trip, ive had my lic for years, you drove it yesterday, so its got to be ok today. you know when somethings not feeling right.

ya the test in order is
    1)Air brakes(the longest one)
    2)drop trailer, hook back up
    3)circle check
    4)in-cab check
    5) drive around town
    6)90 degree back-in
