Yup. Either get a new one or just cut it out and solder/connect the wires together.

Pull the resistor out of the fuse box and bend out tab 85 or whichever one it is and put the resistor back in.

LOL... Dan means..pull the fuel pump speed relay out of the underhood fues box and bend out tab 85 so it won't hit anything. Problem fixed.

When GM fixes the resistor. They leave the original one where it is and put the new one in the middle of the firewall behind the motor.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

it will, never heard this one before.

bending the tab puts the pump in high speed mode, the engine cant take more fuel then it wants, so not like its getting over fueled.

people here have just left it like that for ever, me, i'd get a new resistor just to be safe, and not burn the fuel pump up possibly.

ANNNNNNT try again. I currently get 23mpg driving 20 miles each way to work and doing 80mph doing that stretch. Otherwise I'm all around town. If you were correct, then my mileage should shoot up to say 40mph if I fixed my resistor.

The pressure regulator dumps the extra fuel back into the tank and most fuel pumps in the majority of cars out there run full time. There is a slight difference in programming of running the pump full power vs partial, but your pcm will take care of that for you if you don't retune the car.
