Okay here's my problem I know how to adjust the headlights but I need the actual emitted light from the headlights 2 form actual beams of light, not this smudge of light that I'm getting... I recently purchased some aftermarket head lamp housings, so these are not the original housings. To be specific I have properly aimed the headlights they just look smudged, I'm not getting 2 defined beams of light.

Did they come with bulbs in them already? I bought new ones when I got clear corners and the bulbs they came with gave off like no light. Switched to silverstar ultras and light output is like 10x better.

Yes they came with bulbs but I replace them with HIDs, the HID bulbs are giving of plenty of light there just not concentrated. There's splayed and messy, not 2 distinct beams like I want them.

HIDs in the stock housings arent going to be concentrated like you want them to be unless you retrofit.

What is retrofit? I've tried numerous HID bulbs in my old OEM housings , in which I got mixed results somewere smudged some were actual beams... but these by far are the worst... it looks like my headlamps have water damage. But they're brand new and bone dry, I think it has something to do with the little reflectors, or little mirrors

Retrofitting is basically when you modify your stock housings and put projectors in for better light output. And you're right about the reflectors.

well i have also have read that some hids will have the filiment portion out of place and can greatly reudce the light output.

Depending on exactly where the HID lamp resides within the reflector housing is directly proportional to the type of beam the light will produce. It's not as simple as just sticking the lamp in the housing and whoola!!! It works! Lol... Sorry for the short version, but to do it correctly requires research and a little mod to how the HID sits there.

I replaced my old headlights with new ones and just decided to deal with the Sylvania Halogens for now until a retrofit job in the future. It's less painful. Stock lights sux...
