so you still need to find a car to restore is what im getting here, and have about 2 years to get it all done. and 50 large to spend, your dad must be the coolest!
how much this all costs all depends on the shape of the car you find, how much is still there rust wise if its been sitting and rotting away.
you best bet would be to find a good solid running car, have it checked out, and go from there. it may not need a frame off reso and that save alot of money right there.
if it need a new engine, unless you want it to be a # matching car, id dump a whole new engine and trans in it, and some 3.70 gears in the rear, and make it a lot of fun to drive. but thats all up to your dads needs, only you would know what hes into.
if he likes power thats what i would do, all modern power plant.
not that i dont like old pontiac engines, they can be real monsters. they just dont like the high rpm's like a new Chevy engine. i nice 572 big block would wake that car up for sure lol
just imagine his face when he pops the hood and a beast like this is staring back at you lol
