Stock. Honestly.
Headers will give you a deeper note, and be just a little bit louder.
If you want loud, get a catback exhaust, and it will bolt right on. Best sounding is Borla, but get ready to dish out some serious money.
If you want loud on a budget, swap out the mufflers with ones of your choice. Youtube search to see how different mufflers sound.
Don't remove the resonator.
And lastly, if you want to be deaf, then just straight pipe it.
So, to recap.
Stock
Borla (catback of muffs)
Homemade/shop welded in mufflers of choice
Other brand catback (such as magnaflow or ZZP)
Straight pipe.
I didnt use the reducer that came with the SD headers and went straight to a 3" cherry bomb for a resonator and then reduced down into the stock stuff and mufflers.
That works.
Quiet is better on a 3800.
My exhaust before my 2.5 downpipe.
05 Impala LS with 08 Impala SS Catback WARM.AVI - YouTube stock SS exhaust from 08+ impala
Does it have the ZZP resonator?
HFC'd?
These were my two exhaust setups...sorry for the crappy camera, all the exhaust info are in the clips...it was just a loud mess

Anyone ever do an SLP set-up. I've got a buddy who told me he has an SLP exhaust he would consider parting with. I don't know many details. But I also have been considering getting sd headers.
