Hey guys. I got a 2001 Grand Prix GT with a top swap, vs cam, headers, intake etc. Whenever I put the car in reverse, and touch the brake, the car shudders hard and feels like something is banging. It's hard to explain, but I have no idea where to start. It doesn't do it in drive or when reversing without touching the brake. Any ideas?

This issue went away for a bit and it came back. I am getting a loud scraping and grinding coming from the front end when I apply the brakes in reverse. It sounds like the wheels and it shakes the whole car. I'm thinking it's something with the ABS, but I've never worked on the system before so I'm kinda unsure where to start. Please help!

you dont have SD headers do you...might be the o2 sensor smacking the fire wall.

    Inspect your brakes?
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

I do have SD headers but this is definetely not the O2 sensor. I have had that vibration before. This is a grinding/scraping during braking when the wheels are moving. I'll have to look at my brakes when I get time.

Mine would make alot of noise when I would go in reverse. So I pulled the front wheels off and there was no pad left and the drilled and slotted rotors were destroyed (most damage was on the inside so I probably have bad calipers too). So give the brakes a check.

Yes definitely inspect the brakes, I think I've heard somewhere that if one of the sliding pins on the caliper have fallen out or is loose, depending on which one it is, it can cause strange braking in either forward or reverse.
