need to make a decision. what do you guys think is faster and easier, replacing the trans in my gtp, or strip the needed parts and pick up a gt at the right price and topswap it?

Well if you strip the parts off your current ride and get another gp and topswap...you know eventually that trans will go out in that to. Unless it's low mileage and has routine maintenance I would still be skeptical. Also take into consideration whats the condition of your current car as far as rust etc is considered. If it's rotting sure get rid of it...if it's not or is very little I would either get a used trans w/ a warranty or gt from TEP or Tim King.

Buy a GT, turbo it. Screw the top swap, you'll like turbo more.

I can find a JY trans typically for about $300-500 with a 6 month unlimited warranty. Drop in an EPC and 4th hub shaft for ~$100 as insurance. From there 6-8 hours and it's in the car and driving.

To me.. a trans is quicker and easier than a top swap.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Trans would be less costly. Rebuilds can take a few weeks to do, shop has to order parts and stuff.
