My mods are in my sign.

Yesterday just for the hell of it, I decided to go to a back road and see what kind of 0-60 times I could put down. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I timed it by using my Torque App that has a 0-60 time function.

I couldn't get anything better then a 8.0 0-60 time (I know, that terrible). It's not like I don't know how to drive, I'm not over spinning the tires etc. Or is 8.0 given my mods about right?

I don't have any check engine lights, the car otherwise seems to drive perfect. Tranny shifts perfect, everything works as it should.

My question is why I'm getting such bad times? I'm not expecting anything "fast", its a N/A, so I accept it will be slow. But that slow? Seems like a stock GT should run faster then 8 secs. Mines not "heavily" modded, but its definitely not stock.

I do have about an extra 80lbs of crap in my trunk because of a subwoofer/box. I am also not a feather weight by any means (6'4 280lbs). I know that won't help but it still doesn't seem right.

The plugs/wire are about 2 years old, not sure if that would really matter that much. I could post some data logs of any information that might explain if something isn't "tuned" right or if something is out of wack. My PCM is from 3800 perf and is a "canned" tune.

I appreciate any information, things to check, thoughts that anyone might have.

Thats sounds pretty slow.Thats like stock 0-60. On my old GT i had the same mods as you plus an underdrive pulley and my 0-60 was around 6.3-6.6 sec. Something is wrong somewhere.Whats the mileage on your car?

Seems like it should be faster. Maybe the app is wrong?

I've timed it manually too, and I'm getting similar results. Definitely not anywhere near 6.5 seconds like dmahlikeGT's similarly modded GT.

What type of plugs and how many miles on them? I notice you have a DP, did you go catless, get a new catted one or reuse the stock one? Is the CAI new or has it been cleaned recently?

I just replaced the plugs with AC DELCO iridium oem ones. Intake filter is a little old, not that dirty. And I have a magnaflow cat.

9.462s if it makes you feel any better

our mods make the most difference in the upper rpms so 0-60 will suck but passing people on the highway will rock

edit: left traction control on, will have to try again without it

edit2: turned traction control off, did even worse, I will admit I need more practice

maybe I should hold the brake and raise rpm to 2K then release brake and floor it, dunno

Try it a few times with traction control off. I couldn't get anything better then like a 8.0 flat.

it is known that part of the app is very inaccurate. waste of time using it. take it to the track...

if somebody has used the app at the same time as doing a run down a track it would be nice to see how much of difference there is

No comment.. sorry. apps, gauges and goober things are always inaccurate. Hit the track then cry if 0-60 etc is important to you.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
