do yourself a favor, if you plan on modding the new engine your putting it into, build it first, cam, heads, get your headers ready for the swap. its a lot easier that way.

not that, all that cant be done in the car. if its out you have all the room in the world to work in. so why not.

and a sc 3800 won't make you happy, your going to want mod if you really want to go fast, stock is like 14 to 15 sec car, not very fast.

you dont need a cage unless your doing 10 second 1/4 miles. stock engine wont get you any where near that.

Since you have an SE bumper it would be OK to go with a single exhaust to save some weight. Theres some weight reduction threads around here, just search. Lexan windows also comes to mind. Ive heard of one guy switching to an Aztek front bumper support since its aluminum. umm swiss cheese some unimportant parts. cruise control box maybe? EGR and EVAP can go also (need a tune for these, would be good to do at the same time as the engine swap) Grand am brakes. thats all i can think of for now.

There are legitimate reasons for this.

thanks, and im putting in a cage because to be honest I don't only race on a track. I also some times race on the street and if I wreck I don't want the car to crush in on me, and yeah I plan on doin mods to the SC 3800. I plan on changing the cam, crank, heads, bore and stroke it out, port and Polish the lower intake, well to sum it all up I plan to rebuild it. but its not all goin to happen at once, so im goin to run it while im building it. and the thought crossed my mind about converting it from auto to manual, but probably won't do that.

you clearly dont know much about making power with an M90 powered 3800 then.

    Do research.

and as I said before, the reason I took out my drivers side airbag is because I have spine problems and my doc told me if I get hit with an airbag it will paralyze me

    street racing is so dumb.

and if you get into a crash where you need a cage to save you, but cant take a airbag to the chest, your absolutely fvcked anyways.

As I read this thread, I was thinking the exact same thing.
